I have been doing Tae Bo for the last 3 years.
Someone wasn't using their videotape so gave it to me to try and I have been
doing it ever since. No special equipment(VHS player and TV), weather not an
issue, do it before work when getting ready 5 of 7 days(usually) for 20 to 45
minutes depending on time and attitude! It uses most of the same muscles
used in riding, trains balance and coordination, improves flexibility(plenty of
stretching) and develops cardiovascular system. Upper body is involved in
exercise but not particularly strengthened, For that I use a pull up, dip
station which requires use of most major muscle groups of upper body. My bum
knee is strengthened and tends to be less of a discomfort since doing this
versus other things like running. Joined a gym at one time but never seemed to
get there regularly and required extra time from schedule along with the extra
cost. I retired from the army after 21 years and had to run during
that time and don't like it (boring, weather dependent, knee hurts, etc). I
imagine any kickboxing program would work and happen to do the Tae Bo because it
was what I had for a trial. Just thought I would share my program. I am no
expert but get along pretty good for >50yrs and have done alot of different
things for exercise in those 50+ years.
Ed Roley...now if I could just push away from
the table!
