It was repaired with bone grafts and plates and screws. I started riding with a hard plastic leg brace with hinges and stuff. Luckilly the hinges were on the outside of the knee. I can't remember how long after the surgery but it was a while. I was in a wheel chair for 6 months cause I was not good with crutches. I take a lot of Grand Flex and am on Celebrex. For shorter rides I am fine. However, on the 50 milers, I have to resort to pain pills and am really stiff getting off the horse at the end. However, on the plus side, while my knee does bother me occasionally, it is pretty good overall and I can ride. I must also mention that age and weight take a toll. I don't know about you but I am almost 61 and overweight. mb =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
