Re: [RC] head shaking - heidiIf the above spot seems painful and reactive, then I'd take it as a good indication to get someone out to help with some bodywork---either equine massgae, acupuncture, chiropractor, whatever, once you've had the initial dental work seen to. And just to stress what Susan said here at the end--it is nigh on impossible to get good results with chiropractic, massage, etc. UNTIL the dentition is seen to. One can't get muscles, ligaments, etc. to do things properly if there is a "lock-up" in the jaw impacting everything else. Sometimes dental work alone will allow the rest of the horse to "get right." Sometimes things are so out of whack that once the dental work is done, there is still a need for other "body work." Chiros, massage therapists, etc. that are worth their salt will suggest that you have the mouth seen to first, before you spend a lot of dollars having them work on things that they can't make right until the mouth is fixed.
