My
great-great Grandmother, who I am named after, also lived in the same area. My aunt has an old newspaper clipping
about this very incident.The story
goes she hid in a creek w/ her horse to avoid capture and subsequent loss of
the horse.I'll ask my aunt for a
copy of the clipping tonight.
