A GPS receiver integrated into the ARGOS transmitter and your location is automatically up linked on every revisit (about every 90 minutes). It will track you for about 15 minutes every 90 so if you cut trail do it when the bird is out of view ;-).

BTW most new cell phones have a GPS integrated and when you call 911 your location is passed on.
