Re: [RC] Livestock ID - Truman PrevattCheck out http://www.cls.fr/html/argos/general/newsletter_tout_en.htmlA GPS receiver integrated into the ARGOS transmitter and your location is automatically up linked on every revisit (about every 90 minutes). It will track you for about 15 minutes every 90 so if you cut trail do it when the bird is out of view ;-). BTW most new cell phones have a GPS integrated and when you call 911 your location is passed on. Truman rides2far@xxxxxxxx wrote: Hmm, so can they put a GPS tracker in these things? I'll let'em tag my horses if they'll help me find them when they get away! Sounds like the perfect solution to our earlier thread. Anybody know of a disease our dogs carry that might be threatening? If they'll track dogs the old fellow on our local station that helps find the lost ones will be out of a job. I can see it now...somebody accuses somebody else of cutting trail. The ride manager types the horse's ID number into the computer and we get a GPS tracking course of where he's been. :-)) I grew up with 2 "big brothers"...I'm used to being watched. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
