New Jersey:
My friend, Ival & I went out for a ride this AM. We had been asked to
check out an area know as Bear Swamp recreation area to see what we thought of
the trails for horse trails.. There aren't any bears in this area &
haven't been for more than 100 years but the swamp part was correct.
Their hearts are in the right place & some riders will think it's grand
- we managed to eak out 5 miles by to back tracking every time a trail
ended in a swamp. So much for that ride.
Home for
lunch. The mail was in. Wow - my September Endurance News
finally got here. Perfect lunch reading, beginning to end. I
especially liked Angie's article 'That's incredible?' No, 'Stop doing
that!' I decided it was an excellent article for my husband to
read.
Later, I started
thinking about how long it actually took to get this issue of Endurance News,
approximately 95 days. Well, then I figured it's 2854 miles from here
to Auburn, CA. If we got Endurance riders to deliver, at only 5 miles
per hour it would take 23.7 days .
Back to my husband
reading Angie's article. He read it at dinner. His
comments, "What's Team Penning?" & "I guess her horse's name is
Kaboot?" I don't think the article made the impact I had
hoped.
Tomorrow is
another day, we'll ride some pretty trails in a small State park with other
endurance friends and dream of trails with no
end.
