[RC] Robert E. Lee Re his mount Traveller - rides2farKeep in mind that several breeds developed from the same basic stock--depending on how particular lines and strains were selected and bred. The Saddlebred, the Walker, etc. all come from "thoroughbred" lines--but specific traits possessed by particular individuals were desired O.K. then...since Thoroughbreds descended from 3 Arabian Stallions...those three stallions are now Thoroughbreds using this logic...right? Considering that Traveller was a gelding and didn't directly contribute to anybody's line...seems like he just was what he was. Heidi says her Arab gaited at times but that didn't turn him into a Saddlebred either did it? I give up. Nothing against Saddlebreds. I'd probably do endurance on a Saddlebred (if I found one short enough) before a Thoroughbred. Just in the mood to debate I guess. Now...to make sure this is endurance related...I've heard the army's mortality rate was considerably worse than the racetrack's. Angie "I argue very well. Ask any of my remaining friends. I can win an argument on any topic. People know this and steer clear of me at parties. Often, as a sign of their great respect, they don't even invite me".
