RE: [RC] [RC] Saddles - terry banisterI purchased the American-Flex "Cutback" last Feb. from Cathy Tauer at Hillview Farms (the MN distributor on the website). My horse and I have done nine 50-milers since then, and in that time, my horse's whithers/back has filled out, his way of going is very fluid and he has gotten As on his final vet checks for his back. The panels are self adjusting, so you don't need to pay a technical "expert" to readjust the saddle on a constant basis. I have had no problem with loin rubbing. There are two seat sizes, with or without padding, and I find it comfy enough to ride all day with a sheepskin only on the stirrup leathers. The cutback model makes it easy to get really forward on hills, and the knee rolls work very well for security. Because the seat lets me change positions, it helps avoid fatigue. I can post dressage-style, stand and two-point for miles, or sit back deep in the seat and sling my legs forward Aussie-style at the canter or walk, and feel secure at any speed. The quality has held up fine, and the customer service has been great. I have never looked back.
