Can you get permission to use biodegradable spray paint? That's what I use to mark; you could even spray a number on a tree as a mile marker. Another idea is lime. You can get it in 50# sacks at the feed store. WONDERFUL stuff for marking turns. Perhaps you could add liquid starch and spray it on trees as a mile marker...?
