Louise, that was so beautiful and most of it describes my wonderful Harca. He used to trot into the horse trailer from his corral with the rope thrown over his back and if I took somebody other than him or just the empty trailer, his whinnies of protest could be heard for quite a ways. He used to LOVE the Tevis, you could just see it in his entire demeanor when we got to Robie Park....he was THERE and he was ready. Your post made me smile and cry, I sure do miss him.
For that bond, for that incredible connected love and JOY of going down the trail, that's why we do it Deb, don't knock it until you've found it....its incredible.
