Re: [RC] Do I need to use my horse's registered name for breed awards? (Morgan) - Kristen A. FisherI can give you an example for Arabs: I would need to enroll the Horse Achievement Awards ($25 to join, $20 per year after) as a member of AHA. It must be an AHA recognized CTR or endurance ride, and "an official of the CTR or ER must send a signed copy of the ride results on official AHA ride completion forms to AHA." They have a points table (it was just updated for endurance at the AHA convention last week) and you get points based on # competing and where you placed. [This is how Arabs get the + and / after their names.] Thus, most likely, I would need to have my horses AHA name & number on the ER completion form to get credit through my breed registry. (Morgan) I've been wondering how breed awards work, both from the breed association side and the highest placing horse in the breed at rides. I have a registered Morgan mare who has an absolutely awful registered name. I have a variation on her barn name that I would like to compete her under. How would this affect any breed recognition for the miles I earn? I know the Morgan Horse association will track her miles if I enroll her in the program, and I also know that some rides have rewards for the highest placing Morgan horse. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
