Believe it or not, most womens tights also fit men because
they're so darn stretchy. However, the different brands and models all fit
VERY differently, so some experimentation will be required. A great way to
shorten that cycle is to attend the convention, where he'll be able to try on a
number of different brands.
My personal favorite for riding temps above 55 degrees is
the Saddle Bums Racing Tight and they fit well. I like a slick seat so
that I can move/post easily and their fabric is quite slick. It can come
with both a crotch liner and a seat cushion but the latter did not work for me
at all - it bunched up badly so I cut it out.
Other favorites are Kerrits and Carousel, and they are both
warmer than the Saddle Bums. I wore them when I lived in Washington and
they were excellent except on the very cold/wet days (when nothing was
warm).
Since I wear half chaps, they last nearly
forever.

Breeches
As long as we are on the subject, where can I get
men's tights for my man? He's finally said he'd wear them if I buy them, but
everywhere I've found only carries women's tights.
I'm finishing up my Christmas shopping and need
some recommendations on men's breeches from some of you guys. He
won't wear tights yet, so breeches are what we need. I'm looking
for a brand that wears well, is washable, has a lot of stretch and comes in
black. But it MUST have the belt loops, zipper and
waistband! LOL. Any
recommendations???
