RE: [RC] New Riders - rides2farA lot of new riders buy horses that are experienced endurance horses that are already in condition and have already done several endurance rides. Should they be forced to go slow also? Maybe the wording should be changed to "all new inexperienced horses be required to complete their first 4 rides at a slower pace......." . That's a tricky situation. I've seen some nice horses sold to beginners who simply thought that since they'd bought a horse who had miles on it that they could run wide open. The horses were good, but the riders were clueless and over rode them. I have no doubt that my very experienced horse would try to convince a newbie rider that he could run *much* faster than was safe. If anybody's got to be supervised I'd say this combination is as bad as any.
