But if the sensor turned the sound off anytime you got within 1/2 mile or so..oops! She's 'lost' again as you can no longer hear to go find!! Excellent idea, like the automatic shut off on a riding mower when you get off the seat. Any engineers out there to work on this??

Or how about a two-part device - one on the horse and one on the human, then when they are separated, say half a mile, whatever, the device on the horse will emit the sound.
