I ride in a basic trail model (or maybe Barrel, can't tell) sport saddle.
But I consider the jury "still out" on whether this is the saddle for my
horse and I.  Every saddle I have put on him makes him sore.  Passier,
Stonewall, Mackinder, 3 western, etc.  The Sport Saddle seems to be the
least of the evils, but he gets sore in the loins.

Have you considered the possibility that something other than the saddle is 
making him sore?
