Re: [RC] My Horse Goes to Church - Kristene SmutsHoward, what a wonderful retelling of your thoughts. I have to admit, that I haven't seen the inside of a church for a good few years (unless for the odd wedding or two), but you know what? I don't miss it at all. I have my horses. When I ride, I'm in God's church all the time. He's in the butterflies that fly up just ahead of the horse's hooves. He's in that exquisitely fine spiderweb, adorned with dewey pearls. He's in the guinea fowl that spook my horses every time they fly up just before being stepped on. He's in the unrealistically beautiful sunset ...... in those unbelievably huge storm clouds ..... in the metallic coloured dung beatles who make short work of the signs of our passing by ........ And I'm not grateful for every single blessing in my life just once a year, no, I'm grateful every time I'm with my horses ... for what they allow me to be ........ for what they've forced me to become.
