[RC] Building a Base - Books on Endurance Riding - Stagg_NewmanIn answer to questions about good books on endurance riding and how to build a base the first book I would recommend is: Endurance Riding from Beginning to Winning by Lew Hollander. A classic that got me started is: Enurance and Competitive Trail Riding by Wentworth Tellingon and Linda Tellingotn-Jones (not sure if it is still in print). There is also a book by Karen Paolo that was good with lots of good pictures and "color" on the sport but the book is missing from my book shelf and cannot remember the title. There are lots of other good books on the sport Go the Distance: The Complete Resource for Endurance Horses by Nancy S. Loving, DVM has lots of good info. Wining Strategies for Endurance Horse Racing by Courtney Hart takes a more scientific approach. There are some newer books such as the one by Donna Synder Smith that I am less familiar with And every endurance rider should read Julie Suhr's book Ten Feet Tall, Still.
