[RC] Supracor Pad cleaning - Jonni Jewell

I have a Supracore coolgrip, that I place directly on the horses back. I
usually just hose off to clean, and scrub the suede binding around the edges
to get sweat and dirt off. The other day, I decided that I would try to get
the excess water out of the "honeycombs" after I washed it, with the airhose
on the compressor. It worked very well, and was blowing all the water out
quickly. But what it also did, was to start blowing out the dirt and hairs
that were trapped inside, in the honeycombs! I could hold the pad up to the
light, see where the holes looked clogged, blow them out, and then finish
pulling the hairs and dirt out of the holes as they started to work out. I
gave it a good cleaning this way, and it seemed to really help.

Just passing the info along. I could not see that it was in any way damaging
the pad using the airhose, and this is not an official suggestion from the
company or such...just something that worked very well. I am still amazed
how much crud came out from between the layers of the pad!

Jonni
