[RC] Lost horse 'tendencies"????? - Laurie DurginAs sad as this makes us. Are there any Lost horse tendencies" we could learn from? The accounts I have read, seem to indicate they are found not far from where they were lost. Now I have seen 'tracking' type behavior in both Rascal and a friends mustang. Where they seem to sniff the ground where other horses have gone by, much like a dog (and of course they have to smell any poop , old or new). Is there any kind of compiling of horse behavior when lost (maybe more out west?) I know from being in the Civil Air Patrol for years, and my husband being a volunteer fireman for 18 years that people circle, and lost children tend to go downhill and are often fround on a certain side/degree of a slope (I'd have to recheck to remember exactly). For instance: will thery tend to find other horses? or stay within so many yards, miles, how long before they locate back to the area they were lost from, etc. Maybe people who found their horses could give tips as to wher, how far, andy behavior and we could put this into a training section of the manuel.
