[RC] RE:[RC] Horse Flipped - Ibiteraaarr - A. PerezI've had two similar experiences, not on hills but riding into muck that turned out to be much deeper than I expected it to be (both times crossing what appeared to be tiny little creeks that turned out to be surrounded by deep, sucking mud). Fortunately we never have gone over, but it scared us both and I felt horrible at having put my brave, willing horse in such a posistion, especially since he is so trusting and will go where I tell him no matter how scary the footing. Riding in water can be very dangerous, as you cannot tell what the footing will be like underneath. If you are uncertain of the footing, avoid situations where you are dealing with both the underwater footing and any other 'technical' features: steep banks, rocks, low-hanging limbs. If you can, scope out the footing slowly and be prepared to back out the way you came in (assuming that is easy). If you can't get into and out of the water easily (no hazards, steep backs etc) and you don't KNOW what's under there, do not go in. ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number Voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com/reg/tag =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
