Please, spare me from well meaning rule makers.  Until you have ridden in
more regions and on some of our most popular multiday rides or rides with
terrain issues like Tevis and the Big Horn, please don't assume you
understand what rules like "uniformity" would do to those icons of our
sport.  The reason there are regional differences is because the regions
are different!  Terrain, weather, access issues, along with vets being
able to use their discretion, make an impact.  Thanks.  Cindy
