Re: [RC] Thoughts/comments on cart training? - Karen SullivanVery good point, but I was also thinking, what a great training tool for conditioning and miles, WITHOUT the stresses of a rider on the back! Curious for some input on pro's/con's of training my endurance horse some w/a jog cart. The education of being driven is wonderful. The main "con" is that driving limits lateral flexion and encourages a horse to travel and maneuver with a straight body--which is NOT what you want under saddle. I'd think it would be fine in small doses, as long as there is also riding going on to keep the ability to move laterally alive and well.
