Re: [RC] [Guest] Another Proposal - Ridecamp ModeratorSue Nance endurance@xxxxxxxxxxI have been sitting back and taking all this discussion in regarding the change of pulse criteria. I have been out of the sport for a numerous amount of years and came back just a couple of years ago. What surprised me the most was the emphesis on completions!. I was hearing people going on about how bad it was to pull. Personally, I feel that it is in better valor to pull when things "JAR" than continue on to complete. Shoot, instead of trying to run in an easyboot, I will pull. It just isn't worth potentially hurting my horse. We need to think about the next ride, not the one you are doing that day. I think most people would agree that most of the horses aren't taking >15mins to come down at the VC's. I think that maybe we need to look more at the length of the holds and the numbers of those holds in a ride. Maybe giving more opportunity for the horse to rest and eat is better. If you think about it, 15-30 mins doesn't really allow for the horse to shut down for much rest time at all.
