RE: [RC] AERC Endurance Riders Handbook updated and online - Linda CowlesThe AERC Endurance Riders Handbook ... http://www.aerc.org/ I haven't taken the time to read the whole handbook, but after a quick browse -- this looks very good. Thanks to all of you who worked to complete the update! BTW, I have had NINE new horse owner customers in the past few months. These folks are women in their mid 40's to 50's who are buying their FIRST horse. All of them want to get into "Trail riding for hours" and 4 mentioned "those really long trail races - that endurance riding stuff". These folks are **really** beginners. I went to a stable in Potter Valley to fit a saddle and show the new owner how to tack up her horse (baby steps) and was delighted to find a that a rider I knew from NATRC in the Bay Area, Angie, had purchased the stable and was going to board and give lessons. We really need her! Is anyone else seeing a rise in the number of middle aged women getting into horses for the first time? Again, great job on the updates! Is there any talk of publishing the Handbook in soft back? I know it would sell! Linda Linda Cowles Horse 'N Hound New, Used & Consigned Tack & Stable Supplies 9155 N.
