Re: [RC] [RC] [Guest] Zoom Zoom & Lost Horses - Laurie DurginWhen I trailride in the fall/winter, and ride alone I usually have Blaze Orange on my horse (I cut strips from a vest and then later bought some and put velcro on it and made 'tubes" for my breastplate. Also made orange 'ears' for his head:occasionally bells, and have reflector strips on my stirrups, I had been thinking of hunters, but this makes me think that Blaze Orange, NIghtglow Biothane, Reflector strips and bells might have another purpose--if you got separated Especially in the fall ,if you ride bay horses in hunting terrrirory. This story is so sad. They are hiding I guess for protection.Odd ,you'd think they'd come out for other horses, like when any horses ride by my fence they are whinney and go running to see. Course, most horses are afraid of 4 wheelers and helicopters. Even though mine hear and see them alot, they 'move' away from them. Maybe the owner searching is the only one they will respond too in a stressed situation.
