RE: [RC] Endurance Horse Insurance - ChrystalAlso, talk for a long time with your Ins. agent, for instance I found out this summer that if I had mortality ins. that the co. would only cover me if I had done every possible thing before putting a horse down, well duh you might be thinking, I would of course do everything before that decision was made, but how about if the vet says $15,000.00 surgery MIGHT save your animal?? If you choose not to operate you lose your mortality etc....... It was my vet actually who warned me about mortality and said it is hard to get them to pay out for those reasons. Also if you have ins. on a horse that does not belong to you be careful as the ins. co. can pay out the"legal" owners and then come after you if they think they can prove any kind of negligence (eg you left the gate open, horse got out and hit by a car.) In that scenario my ins agent suggested that "legal" owners carry the ins. and I get liability ins. AGH!! Very complex!!:-)Anyway, I run every scenario I can past my ins. agent to make sure I am covered.:-) :-) :-) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
