[RC] RE:Hauling with heads out windows - Jonni JewellJessica wrote: >>My windows have 2 drops down pieces. I see some also have a screen too, in addition to the grill, to keep debris and bugs from flying into the trailer. Jim said "I don't like the grills...in an emergency, I can cut away or rip out the screens. You can't do that with jammed and bent grills." Interesting point, and indeed a factor in an emergency....and as mentioned, he said "Each individual makes decisions based on whatever "risk factor" they are willing to accept." That indeed it a VERY true fact.....I personally would rather risk bent grills on my trailer in an accident, that I might not be able to open, than to have had my horses head hanging outside the trailer during said accident. Funny some people recommend screens to keep "birds from flying through them", are the same ones who have their heads hanging outside the trailer.......you know, where the birds fly........go figure...indeed, we all weigh the risk factors, then satisfy our thoughts in our own minds, to let is feel good about it...... Jonni (in Texas...out in the country....on a 5 mile dirt road, with rarely a passing car.....pretty much perfect....and my horses keep their heads inside the trailer at all times...just in case.....) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
