Re: [RC] [AERC-Members] Feral Horses - sharp penny

I too, think this is a very valid concern, but then I
wonder the same thing about a few of the endurance horses I
have seen a some rides. Obvously this would have to be
addressed and ironed out (and would imagine in the works)
but I believe when all is said and done thse BLM horses
will be "safer" than some of our e-horses that show up at
the ride.

Also It kind of buggs me that BLM wants to
sell us their horses but is planning on eliminating
equestrians from some of their lands.

hmmmm... where did you read that BLM wanted to sell us
horses??? I was under the impression they just wanted a
venue to help showcase their program and adoptable horses.

And they are very
difficult to deal with in getting permits for E/Rides on
BLM lands.

Isn't this why Randy pointed out that a partnership BLM
would be advantagous to AERC and the whole point of letting
them partner with us????

Penny

rides.

One thing that concerns me about this idea is the
logistics. I know it's proposed for just a few rides,
but as a rider, I've got all I can do to take care of
me and my horse at a ride. I do a little visiting the
night before a ride, but on ride day, it takes
everything I've got to complete and take care of
details. I wouldn't have time or the interest to look
at horses at an auction, whether they are mustangs or
  Arabs or whatever.

There is so much going on at an endurance ride, I
can't imagine adding one more ring to the circus!
