Re: [RC] related to hauling - Karen SullivanSo far I've been experimenting with jamming a cordura hay bag into the manger (laid on its back), so they can pluck hay through the hole, while the rest of it stays secure, but it doesn't work great (bag often gets pulled up and out). I'm wondering about sewing some sort of "manger skirt" to secure over the entire top of the manger, with a slit for each horse to poke his muzzle through to pull out hay. Has anyone seen anything like this? Or does anyone have any other bright ideas about how to make sure the horses have hay in front of them during the journey - but without most of it going up their nose/out the window? So....take a cheap string hay bag and tie hay in good, then insert in feeder, and clip very firmly to the three snaps. It cannot be pulled up and out, and horses have to pick hay through the hay bag......whad to you think?
