Re: [AERC-Members] [RC] RO pulls poll - Truman PrevattThe issue with the RO pull is it makes it almost impossible to get good data as to why our horses are not making it the distance. The last couple of years it was better but about 5 years ago 40% of the pulls in 50's were RO. Interestingly enough that didn't happen in 100's - the RO pulls have been pretty flat since 96. What's the difference. Now for the LD it's even worse. Not only is the RO an issue but the "other" ( mostly overtime but I lump other as any code other than RO, ROM, M, ROL and L ) make up a huge percentage of the pulls compared to the same category in the 50's and 100's. Are the 25 really that much over time? It is absolutely impossible to say anything accurate about why our horses are not making it if we don't report why they don't make it. When we are trying to figure out why horses or dyeing or having serious problems it would be very nice if the pull codes were accurate so the would provide some meaningful insight.
