Hi Drin
My vet told me there is a syndrome which can occur with this shot which 
doesn't show up until two years and then the horse dies suddenly--- 
unexpectedly. Now I don't know if that syndrome has been cured yet--- 
Dr. Gordon warned me about it in the 90's. Perhaps Susan or Charlotte 
could shed some light on the subject as to current thoughts?? I have had 
occasion where my mare has foaled very early and I had a choice whether 
to hold out for the three month tetanus/enceph. shots (earliest it can 
be given so long as the Venezuelan is not included) or to take the risk. 
One time I took the risk and waited and the other time I went ahead and 
gave the tetanus shot. I was fortunate and did not have any problems. 
PErhaps one of the vets can give you the odds of the syndrome v. 
tetanus. I found out that the last case of tetanus in my parts of the 
woods was over 70 years ago so the second time I waited for the 3-way.
