Re: [RC] preggers questions - Rae CallawayYes, it can. When I met one of my friends about 14 years ago, she was riding her 4 year old mare. This mare had a 2 year old filly! Apparently, my friend had bought a 6 month colt and filly at the same time and kept them in the same pen together until she found out that the filly was pregnant at 1 1/2 years of age.
I have a 2 year old filly that came into her first heat last spring. That didn't surprise me as much as my 1 year old filly also coming into her first heat last spring and out hussying the 2 year old! Thank goodness all I have are geldings on the place! General was really confused when Angel kept sticking her butt in his face. He thought she wanted to play and picked up the horse ball and started bopping her with it. Not quite what she wanted, but it was hilarious.
