[RC] [Guest] Even the Mighty Morgan fails this Fort Valley test!! - Ridecamp Moderator

Since Hawk only needed 50 miles for his AERC 3,000 I elected to sign up for Saturdays 50 and only ride Sunday if it was Morgan weather and I was having fun! Going into the first two holds all was well. We arrived at hold two (now its 8? miles to Hickory Lane)and were clearded to go at 2:45 p.m. Here's where the problem was my fun-meter shattered into thousand of pieces when after 21/2 hours we still were not near hold three. It took all but three hours to do 8ish miles and Hawk crossed the finish line after 6 (with only two more 50s finishing yet).
When we went for our completion he was lame(abcess brewing I'm guessing) so he did not get his 3K yet. Had he not been lame with my fun-meter ruined (possibly forever at Fort Valley) I certainly would not have went out Sunday anyhows.
The attrition rate in all 3 rides was BAD. We all anticipate hard but accurately measured trails would have been great.
On the plus side the food was great, the marking awesome, the views on top the ridges breath-taking. And I had a blast riding with Martha Ann Romoser!. Mary and Hawk 2950 and holding....
