[RC] Endurance riders stats for the US - AERC Year Book - Lucy Chaplin TrumbullChrystal wrote:> ...does anyone have any idea of the numbers > of riders/horses involved in endurance in the States??? Chrystal Part of that information is published in the back of the AERC year book, which members receive at the end of each season - it's given out at the Convention in March, and mailed to members who weren't able to attend. The Year Book contains (amongst other things): * results for every ride held in the US that season (Dec 1-Nov 30) * list of lifetime horse miles * list of lifetime rider miles * list of riders who have over 5000 miles (and what their lifetime miles are) * list of horses who have over 3000 miles * results of all awards (and an explanation of what they are) and best of all, my favorite part, * photos and write-ups of all the 3000+ mile horses :) It also contains a breakdown of the stats of how many rides/riders/miles were ridden that year - both nationally, and broken down by region. Pulling the stats from the last line, for the national grand totals: # of rides: 770 Rider miles: 781,695 Starters: 20,912 Finishers: 17,674 Juniors: 1,315 Seniors: 19,587 Pulls-lame: 1,617 Pulls-metab: 529 Pulls-other: 1,087 Unfortunately, that doesn't show exactly how many *individual* horses/riders are involved - Mike Maul may be able to crunch that number (I don't know how easy that is to extract from the database). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Lucy Chaplin Trumbull elsie AT foothill DOT net Repotted english person in Sierra Foothills, California * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
