[RC] Rump Rugs - rides2farO> I made several from polar fleece. Yes, I did dart them. The "pattern" I used was to spread out a winter blanket and trace the pattern of the shape of the butt Mine snaps to the back of the saddle but bounces up under my rump when rolled up. Here's how I'm going to make my next one if I ever get my Singer Tredal (sp?) sewing machine fixed. I want to make mine take up like venetian blinds. It's got to be fast and easy. None of this stopping and trying to roll it up. I want two double seams forming tubes, one even with each ring on back of the saddle, then I'll run a draw type string through it. Then I want one of those little plastic thingies like is on the loop to your stuff sack...you just squeeze it and pull the cord through. I should be able to grab that thing, squeeze, pull the string and the rump rug bunches up behind the saddle again. Bingo! :-) I put a slot in the middle of my rump rug so I can attach it to the crupper to keep it from flopping over to one side. It's got duct tape on it now but should have a piece of velcro that could just be stuck down to stabalize it. Right now I only use one after dark on a 100, but if it could take up fast I might be more likely to use one on a cold morning.
