[RC] Vets - GarnerTLet's not start bagging on the vets! I've done more LD than 50s, and my horse has always had excellent vet care, no matter what distance I was doing. The only time I've heard anyone being rude to the LD riders was a ride in northern California & it wasn't the vets. The P & R people were being snotty to the LD riders about their horses' P & Rs with comments such as, "You really should know how to take your horse's pulse with a stethoscope" etc. They really ticked off one lady who was riding with her granddaughter. She informed them that she had a zillion ENDURANCE miles, knew how to take a pulse, and would they quit preaching & do their job. I was there all day & never once heard them condescend to the 50 milers. The LD riders were also treated to a preride lecture the night before on how someday they might be endurance riders. That is one ride - one time - I heard these slams against LD riders. The rest of the time, I have never heard or seen anything derogatory, particularly by the vets. I have never been through a vet check or a post ride check without a good exam by our PS region vets!
