Wow, Dick, you sure did out me with that data. I had no idea I was
dong that well. If I ever reach 1000 miles (LD's don't count for nothing) can I
talk then, or is it 2,000, or has the damage already been done because I've
chosen to do LD's at all? Hey, since you've outted me let me come clean
and say, "I suck as an endurance rider. I really do. Why I bother to
even show up at a ride at all is beyond even my comprehension. My only
goal at a ride is to leave camp with a healthy horse and, according to Dick's
data, that's not much of a goal at all."
The thing is, with logic like Dick's I guess that means whatever idea Joe
Long comes up with must be passed instantly, immediately, and, without
discussion. We should rewrite and rename the AERC Handbook "The Gospel,
according to St. Long." And, call the short, abridged version "Book
of Heidi."
And, I guess we will no longer listen to Susan G or Nancy Loving since I'm
not quite sure if their numbers qualify or meet Dick's standards. Thanks,
Dick, I'm sure that will get us all on the same page and make decisions
concerning the welfare of the horse much more easier to make based on your
data. Please, keep up the research; good job.
cya,
Howard (at least I beat Laura in the "sit around and watch the horses come
in" category since I seem to have 3 times as many pulls)
I don't know about Howard
but I think I am going to get hold of Laura Hayes to teach me
something about this sport that I need to know.
My horse JS Bach
just finished his second National Championship. In 99 he tied for
first MW and was dead last 10 days ago. He has 4 Tevis completions
and about 7 other hundreds to draw on. I have been pulled too many
times .... Mostly rider error. He is

Congrats to 73 Y.O . Lew Hollander on the Iron Man...
I am the same age but not nearly as
