She had said that the first vet check was at 35 miles. This was incorrect and I should have corrected it then, but just let it slip. There was a no-hold vet check at 15 miles. The horses were examined thoroughly at the point but were not required to stay. The next vet check was at 36 miles and was a 1 hour hold. All of the vet checks were roughly no more than 15 miles apart. In light of the recent discussions about frequency of vet checks, if someone read that SP's first vet check was at 35 miles they might be horrified, so I thought clarification was in order.
