[RC] EXPERIENCE - bechackThe first time I went to Death Valley Encounter, I was in awe of the riders I had only read about. There were riders there from all over the US (and some international riders have come too!) I got to thinking about the miles represented at this one ride. I thought to myself (self: there must be a 1/4 million miles represented here) Well, I was wrong. Had a slow moment at work so did a little research. These statistics are for Day one only of the December 2002 DVE. Lifetime Miles of 94 Starters 500,132 miles Average Miles = 5437 They broke down as follows 0-500 = 15 riders 501-1500 = 20 riders 1501-3000 = 16 riders 3001-6000 = 18 riders 6001-10,000 = 11 riders 10,001- 15,000 = 8 riders over 15,000 = 6 riders What was also interesting was out of the 9 riders that did not finish, 2 had 0 miles and 2 had over 25,000 The group (in groups of 10's per finish ie....top ten, top 20 etc) with the most miles was 21-30 th place. I have know idea what it all means, I was just facinated by it all and thought we needed something new to talk about. Happy Trails to all.....
