Remember when I said "on any given day the results could easily be
reversed " .... Well today was that day Royal Fanfare won by a head.
...
Why did it have to be today though .... Ha ! That's horse
racing. If it was a sure thing no one would show up to challenge.
A
tough field of horses Royal Fanfare came from behind, far off of the pace and
just kept closing on them. It was a great race and as always congratulate
the winners Claudia and Dan Spears acquaintances of mine from Texas.
Unlike the AERC NC 100 ... I only had to wait Two minutes, eight
seconds and change to know the results. A breathtaking finish the stands must
have gone wild.
Delaware Park Gladys Brown Edwards Stakes - For Arabian Fillies

ROYALE FANFARE was unhurried early, moved up
outside rivals on the far turn then was under a long drive to run down the
leader late. STACCATA saved ground while setting the pace, drifted out in the
final furlong and was caught late. MORE ADORAABLE prompted the pace, loomed
boldly through the stretch but was carried out in the final sixteenth and wasn't
quite good enough. VAMONOS JUAHITA was unhurried early then failed to menace
with a mild bid. SEY PROOFS FARA attended the early pace then tired. MURKANAS
GLORY was forwardly placed outside rivals for six furlongs then tired. MISS
PHILLY showed little.
Usually when a horse drifts out it means they have a problem/pain they are
trying to get away from. In this case it's because Staccata's jockey almost fell
off ... which cost her the race ....
