[RC] Lisa is right on. - Cheryl or Randy Winter

Lisa,
I think your thoughts on this matter on right on. Bring the beginners up
through a series of trials that have a sane progression of speed and
distance that will allow the horse AND rider time to learn. They have this
in place for other disciplines, that being, a set of building blocks. If
nothing else, even if the rider does not have the common sense to be able to
read situations well because of lack of experience, at least the horse will
have a safety net for a while to be able to handle the stresses presented to
them. Maybe just maybe when the team was allowed out into the main steam of
the sport, then maybe the rider would recognize what fast is when they
started doing that pace, because they have witness first hand what
reasonable is from the start. At least give people something to gage off of
for comparison. Just my thoughts.
Cheryl
