Endurance.Net Ridecamp Archives

In 2002 there were 20879 starts in all distances in the AERC. Of those 
about 1000 were one day 100's, about 12,000 endurance rides other in 1 
day 100's (there were very few two day 100's so they don't play much). 
The rest were LD's.

So Lucy is right, you would have to look over multiple years most likely 
in the AERA to have an adaquate set set to compare. On the other hand, 
the growth in deaths over the past few years in the AERC is much greater 
than the growth in starts - that's the part where we should all be 
concerned, independent of what is happening in the AERA
