Provo and I were able to get out and ride the second
half of the first loop of the 50 mile ride (~16 miles)
on Saturday. I took a bunch of pics and did a sort of
commentary explaining what was going on:

I'm not sure at what stage the 100 milers rode the
pink loop.

Bev Gray is right - you'd be an idiot to miss this
ride next year if you can get to it.

* Ride management were most excellent.
* The vets were wonderful (Melissa Ribley [Head vet], Duane Barnett from NC,
  Jamie Kerr, local Chrysane Colattos, Susan McCartney, Jim Baldwin, ...)
* The volunteers were fun and helpful.
* The trail was overkill-marked.
* They provided tons of water out there (at least the parts I saw).
* Ridecamp was great.
* Ridecamp was easy to get to, in terms of directions/route.
* There were free showers.
* There was reasonably priced food available if you wanted it.
* There was a huge tent to shelter from the wind in, with tables and chairs.
* There were vendors <gulp>
* The temps were perfect - not too hot, not too cold
  (OK, so it was a little cold on the 100, but not ridiculous for Oct)

and best of all,

* the trail was gorgeous.
