RE: [RC] Overriding - eznetAt a local race last Saturday, a horse collapsed near the finish line. Surprisingly the horse got up after being given fluids. The buzz in the crowd was that it was a hot day and the horse was over ridden. When I tell you that the maximum Temperature for the day was 75 and the average humidity 77% and the race was one half mile long, you will see that over riding is so dependant on previous conditioning ( which we don't usually know) that it is hard to have an opinion on it.
