[RC] Initial feedback on Ground Control shoe experiment! - sharon1359Well, he got his new Ground Control shoes (www.plastichorseshoes.com) put on four days before our 30-miler last weekend. He LOVED them! :) He did lots of trotting and cantering on hard gravelly dirt roads, and paved roads, and was able to really stretch out his stride. I almost think he was more comfortable than when he used to wear four Easy Boots!? I know there is a tendency for the clinches to loosen up after long rides so I've kept a close eye on them. They still look good, and it's now been two weeks since they went on. The farrier put three nails on each side, and one in the toe (thanks to a hint I saw here). There seems to be some flex in the back of the shoe but that's just to be expected I think. So far there have been NO rocks or pebbles under the center bar, and he definitely does get down and roll a lot, so it's not like he hasn't had the opportunity to wedge a few in there... it just hasn't been happening. Thanks to all of you who gave feedback and helped me with the decision! :) -Sharon Kenney and Zephyr's Elegant Gift (aaaaaaaaaahhhh, now that feels GOOD!) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
