[RC] Kahlil's Perfect Ten - k s swigartLisa Salas asked: We are talking 10, 100 mile riders per year, right? ... How DID you do that, Joe?? As near as I can tell by looking at Kahlil's record, they did it by, among other things, taking more than ten years to do it. ~5,000 of his miles were "pre-1985" along with the other ~6,000 miles that were done in the 12 years from 1985 to 1998. A couple of those years had no more than 50 miles in them. Rio took more than ten years to get to 10,000 miles as well (at least 15, but he also has "pre-1985" miles, so it is hard to tell exactly). However, I will agree with John, my real goal is to enjoy the trail, no matter how fast or how much of it I have ridden, and no matter who else might have been there and how fast or how much of it they might have ridden. But the AERC doesn't give out awards for that. It is a happy, healthy, horse that gives awards for that. kat Orange County, Calif. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
