Subject: [RC] shoeing and scientific data - EventXC

I looked all over the recommended website and couldn't find any scientific
articles. It seems to me if people need to see scientific foot articles, they
should find the articles by: Robert Bowker of Michigan State, Hilary Clayton
also of Michigan State, Chris Pollitt from Australia, Barbara Page of Colorado,
David Hood of Texas A&M, etc.

Those are the individuals who are studying the biomechanics of the hoof and
how it affects disease processes; their research will pave the way for
understanding at a deep foundation the factors that need to be avoided or
encouraged
to maintain a healthy foot both naked and shod (because, yes, it is a fact of
life that some horses need to be shod). Many horses go through life healthy
and happy with never a hint of lameness and they are also shod (my horse comes
to mind).
