RE: [RC] [Guest] Treatment - PAC horses - Ridecamp ModeratorMy horse was the first one pulled at the PAC - for lameness. It was consistent but still difficult for anyone to decide what was the cause. In fact, I have ridden this horse since she was 3 and know her every move and I did not detect this while riding. I was taking her back to the trailer and was told she HAD to go to the treatment trailer. She was not treated but she was given a wonderful, thorough exam by Dr. Anne - and it was determined she had pulled a curb - diagnosis - minor. This was a good pull by some very observant vets and there is no way she would have made it through another 25 miles. I was not upset; (in fact they probably saved us from putting another 5-10 miles on her unnecessarily) and actually think it is a wonderful idea to have all pulled horses seen by the treatment vet. Many of these horses have long trailer rides home - ours was 3 1/2 days. The point here - just because a large number of horses went to the treatment trailer (or barn) much of it was precautionary. I was, as always, impressed with the high standard of vetting at the Pan Am.
