Very well put, Heidi!  Joe Long isn't the kind of
rider to do something for no good reason.  I can
better understand now what was happening.

Having said that, I've still never seen a horse jugged
except in severe metabolic distress.  However, I'll
never *assume* again that a horse receiving IV's is in
metabolic distress.
