Re: [RC] [RC] Decline of entries in 100 milers - norma birchI am considered a Senior Citizen and it has been two years since I did a 100 mile ride, but on that one, I was 2nd and took B.C. and I haven't done one since as I have started a new horse and he is seven this year and didn't get many miles due to a bad shoe job on him last season. It meant letting two quarter cracks and a sore toe grow out. I have a good shoer now so maybe this year I can make more progress on him. I really like 100's better than I do a fast 50. They have a different pace. I have mentored riders on 100 mile rides and I like to see people get out and try 100's. Really, what have you got to lose! I just wish we could find one around here instead of having to travel so far to get to one. We have lots of Multi-day rides but very few 100's within 500 miles.
